I like the name Lily alot for a girl...?

Do you think it%26#039;s better to name her Lillian and call her Lily for a nickname or do you like Lily by itself? I personally think I prefer Lily by itself but would like some feedback.

Reply:I almost named my daughter Lily. I think it%26#039;s really cute, she just didn%26#039;t really look like a Lily. I really liked the name Lillian, too. My husband said %26quot;NO%26quot; because our son%26#039;s name is Killian.
Reply:Our youngest is Lilianna (pronounced Lily - ahh- na like open your mouth and say ahhh), and we call her Lily for short. Lillian is such a harsh sounding name - we wanted something softer. But I love just Lily too.


BTW her full name is Lilianna Juliet and we get wonderful comments even now and she%26#039;s nearly 6yrs old.

Reply:Lily is really nice and will be fitting when she%26#039;s young but if you look down the road, as an adult she will probably be taken more seriously as Lillian than as Lily.
Reply:I think if you prefer Lily, that%26#039;s what you should call her. This used to be more of an issue. My cousin was %26quot;just%26quot; Kim and often was told by teachers to sign her %26quot;full name%26quot; (i.e. Kimberly). But nowadays, I think anything goes and you should pick what you like.

I knew a girl named Lillian who went by Lily, and I think it would be easier to just go with what they will be called the most.
