After nagini attacks Snape, he gives harry his memories then says to harry, %26quot;look at me%26quot;. It then describes the green eyes locking with the black for just a moment, then Snape dies.
I was confused as to why snape would%26#039;ve told harry to look at him in the few seconds he had left to live, so I read that page again. Then it ocurred to me that he told harry to look at him cuz he wanted to see lily%26#039;s eyes one last time before he died... anyone agree with me?
My impression of Snape/Lily, anyone else think this too? (SPOILERS so only read if you have read the book!!!)?
yes, I think that%26#039;s why everyone keeps referring to thei eyes
Reply:If he loved Lilly all his life, then it would make sense that he%26#039;d want to look into the eyes of his only love...even if they are in her son, and not her.....
I%26#039;m glad to have a lot of that explained too......
Reply:ya that totally makes sense now because i was really really wondering about that myself.
Reply:yeah......great reasoning
Reply:thats what i think harry had lily%26#039;s eyes so snape wanted to see them one more time. But i dont think he should have died so effortlessly atleast put a fight lol. oh well amazing book one for the ages i think especially the last 100 pgs or so.
Reply:yeah thats what i thought myself as everyone in the books always says that harry had his mothers eyes and for snape to look into harrys eyes was to look like looking into the eyes of the only person he only really cared about the last thing he wanted to see before he died.
Reply:wow i never realized that. it makes sense. and that was pretty smart of u
Reply:wow i never even thought about it that way but... THATS SOOOOO TRUE!! i ttly agree with you
im now sure that thats the message that JKR was trying to give
AWESOME WORK!!
Reply:it could be... after all, Snape was in love with Lily but she chose James. That%26#039;s why Snape hated Harry so bad. Jealously.
Reply:YES!!! I totally agree.
Reply:Yeah, good thinking. I had not thought of that!
Reply:heck yea!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:U need to read the page again
Reply:That%26#039;s excellent reasoning; I agree with you.
Reply:well, yeah! snape was in love with his childhood friend lily. hence the reason he also had a doe for a patronus....
Reply:Definitely right.
We all know that Harry was almost tired of hearing from adults that he %26quot;had his mother%26#039;s eyes.%26quot; This was, to me, the saddest part of the book.
Reply:Yeah, that makes sense.
IDK, but when I read the part about Snape%26#039;s Pensieve, it was really sad, and kind of spooky... It was weird, and it really made me feel bad for Snape. All he really wanted was Lily...
Reply:dude I haven%26#039;t read the book, but of course it was spoiled before you anyway, but it%26#039;s always been quite obvious to me the reason Snape hated Harry%26#039;s father was because he got Lily. That%26#039;s just an observation from another reader, but I totally agree with you.
Reply:Oh Yes! I was a bit confused by that last act too, until I read the next chapter. It%26#039;s heartbreaking to think that Snape%26#039;s whole life practically revolved around Lily, their friendship, her death, and her son%26#039;s life. That was a great plot twist. Too bad Snape and Harry didn%26#039;t get the chance to talk about it, or to apologize or become friends...but then again there is that really sweet conversation in the epilogue regarding Snape, remember? Anyways, i hope you enjoyed the book : )
